The Mercury Crab Snare

A modern, 3D-printed take on the round crab snare:

– Lead-free weight, adjustable from 3 to 12.5 oz
– Screw-top opening for easy bait loading
– Glow-in-the-dark body to increase catch efficiency

Easy-Open Bait Cage

Unscrew the top, add the bait, and screw the top back on. The Mercury snare’s 4.4 cubic inch volume makes efficient use of bait.

Lead-Free, Adjustable Weight

To avoid lead toxicity, the plate washers are made from plain steel.

Unscrew the bolt and change the number of washers to adjust the weight. Each snare comes with 9 washers (1.2 oz each) to customize the weight from 3 to 12.5 oz (configured as 12.5 oz out of the box, 9 oz as shown).

Glows in the Dark

The Mercury crab snare glows in the dark. The sky blue phosphorescence matches the peak visual spectral sensitivity of crustaceans, enabling positive phototaxis.

The Mercury Capsule

The Mercury crab snare is named after the Mercury capsule, the United States’ first human spacecraft.
